At press time, the post had been re-Tweeted 4,162 times and received several negative comments asking the actress if she was high and noting that "taking precautions isn't negativity."
Hurricane Sandy has reached a wind speed of 90 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center. Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated from coastal towns from North Carolina to Main and parts of New York City.
Mass transit, schools and businesses have shut down and families were advised to prepare for an emergency. Shortly before sending her inflammatory Tweet, Lohanre-Tweeted a message from the American Red Cross, urging people to review their emergency plan she alsore-Tweeted New York Daily News' post about the 6,800 flight cancellations.
Lohan's publicist of one and a half years, Steve Honig, resigned from his position on October 25. A few days earlier, it was revealed that the actress would not face charges for an alleged hit-and-run incident which occurred in September.
Lohan has had a several legal woes over the past few years. In March, a judge ruled that Lohan has fulfilled all her probation requirements stemming from a 2007 DUI and cocaine possession case, which had stalled her acting career. She has served five stints in jail.
Lohan is working on her return to acting and recently wrapped shoots for a Lifetime movie based on Elizabeth Taylor's life in which she stars as Taylor and an indie film called "The Canyons," based on a script by "American Psycho" author Bret Easton Ellis.
